On March 25, 2010, an article was published on Minghui.com, saying that Yang Chaoquan (杨朝全), a villager of Weiziyu Village, Dongli Town, Yiyuan County, Shandong Province, was suddenly blind because he had once "persecuted Falun Gong practitioners" as secretary of Weiziyu Village. After fact-find, this news is proved to be a rumor again.

The article published on Minghui.org on March 25, 2010

There is indeed a former secretary surnamed Yang in Weiziyu Village. His name is also sound Yang Chaoquan (杨超全), just one character different in Chinese. In addition, there is only one secretary surnamed Yang, so he should be the person mentioned by Minghui.

When asked if Mr. Yang was blind, the villagers were looking at the reporter of Kaiwind.com with surprise, "Who makes this rumor? If he is blind, we should have known that because we live in the same village.""Where did you hear about that? No one will believe this kind of flapdoodle."

Finally, the reporter found Yang Chaoquan.

Yang Chaoquan, male, 64 years old now, had taken charge of Weiziyu Village from 2000 to 2003. As a farmer now, Yang Chaoquan told the reporter with a smile, "I know a lot of people are obsessed with Falun Gong. Since I was the secretary, I couldn't let it cheat people in my village. Look, I'm fine. I don't care how they swash."
